Looking for advice on purchasing a wood chipper

Stu since you're in sunny Scotland, I know all the dealers who will supply various types of chippers to you. 

You said "unfortunately" its going on finance - what's so bad about that? Have you had a bad experience somewhere?

 

For the brand of chippers that I know most about, a lot of value is retained in the first few years, and I regularly have the conversation with people that instead of looking at a 2 year old machine, its really not that much extra to get one new. Then you get the 3 years parts and labour warranty, and if bringing it in and then collecting is a problem, then I know the dealer I work with do on-site repairs a lot where appropriate. 

 

Might be worth you and I having a chat and I can give you an idea of figures for monthly payments etc?

I run a Jensen A540 turntable road tow, and a Forst TR6. Had the Jensen as ex demo, short warranty. Dealer good, but Jensen Germany slow++ if parts have to come from there, but machine is fantastic at its job.

 

Had the Forst TR6 from new, 3yr warranty. Had a problem with the ignition switch, the mechanic came to me and fixed it, as that's how they work. Whenever I have rung Forst with a query/ordering parts they are absolutely first class service quality. The machine itself is fantastic.

Actually I was not asking about what chipper was breaking down a lot, misunderstanding there, my fault.

I have one, second hand, I have had a hydraulic motor go, and an ignition barrel, but yeah, it’s nice.
