Oddly the Husqys i did my felling tickets on 354s i think, were the bollocks, great lil saw on conifer....... So Why stop making them? Has wood changed so much in 30 yrs??   K

Everyone wants more.

 

More power, more torque, less weight, better consumption, lower emissions, less vibration, essier starting, lower maintenance, etc.

 

All these demands drive the evolution. What's a real testament to design and engineering done well

is saws like the 395 and 3120, largely unchanged for 30 years.

Yes, we had a company come in and take videos/ pictures of a big redwood milling job we did after a takedown. Super pleased with how they came out. Few more below....

I will say we are running 2 500i and one has had nothing but issues and been back to sthil twoce now and tebuilt once with only 29hours on it. It was one of the early models but the newer one has been spot on.

@allseasons ye see, if that was a car maker - they would have gone bust by now.  Tired of test bed customer attitude from manufacturer.   Had a few good saws that really could not be faulted. Then a ' new model' arrives............  🙄 K
