Has the world changed?

Oh I totally agree with you Bob. That's the root problem and reason that we are in the position we're in but we can't change it overnight and I need staff to appear overnight. ?

I had one guy leave in a tantrum recently because he felt undervalued/felt he should be rewarded massively for his short service here. He had no comprehension of the cost to me/my business for his development. It is just a typical example of someone feeling entitled and wanting everything NOW. Of course, if he'd stuck around for another day he'd have discovered just how valued he was and the enormity of what was about to be literally handed to him.

The general attitude of "I deserve it now!" is what really riles me.

Sorry for the rant. ?

People don't leave if the boss man, terms and pay are right, why would they?,  I'm sure you are a decent fella, Al, But you seem to be  doing  something wrong, you are always looking for staff after someone's jacked..

I'm probably the wrong person to contribute towards this thread being a massive misanthrope. I had a super frustrating day dealing with builders merchants yesterday, all of whom were on "Devon Time", failing to understand that (for instance) I might require the hardcore and cold lay tarmac at the same time (or even just before) hiring the whacker plate from them. Staggering inefficiency and ineptitude.

I don't know how the rest of you handle it, but if I speak to too many people too regularly, it leaves me with the overwhelming urge to buy a cabin deep in the woods in Sweden and never return. At least there would be no fecking Devon lanes there! ?

It's not quite 'in' the woods, but it's on the edge and would do me just fine:

Close to my brother in law too, and only £23k with a quarter of an acre. I've had years where I've paid more rent than that.

Can you live there year round? Many 'Hytter' in Norway do not allow permanent residence, might be different in Sweden though? I know many Norwegians have Hytters in Sweden as its much cheaper to live than in Norway and obviously because its very beautiful there as well.  Just make sure its no where near Malmö. ;)

People jacking on you all the time, no.

You're replying to a question that was not asked, as you well know. :)  I clearly quoted the part of your statement that I was referring to. Are you dyslexic by any chance, genuine question?
