How old do you rec????

 

average 12 rings to the inch 3.2mtrs circumference equal to 102 cm DBH or around 380 years old give or take!

 

An ash pollard is a fine sight indeed. This Chalara is really quite depressing...

 

Im trying to document all I can of the ash now before chalara takes hold :thumbdown:

 

Really can't beat a good pollard, need to get myself in and around some big old trees over the winter! Windsor park anyone?

Big saw, head height, high revs & keep cutting :biggrin:.

 

sounds a bit overkill a small gransfors forest axe would be more my style!:biggrin:

 

 

Some photo's Tony of a few pollards I have worked on in the past. Will make some effort to find out any recordings of associated reactive response & colonization of fungi & bugs that I hope are being recorded in some form.
