Still plenty on the south coast but it rapidly disappearing ., in one week I’ve felled was is probaly one of the bigger ones left in terms of diameter .. following by climbing was is apparently

Stunning timber. Really glad it worked out with Copford.

Thanks mate .. great bunch of guys who know there stuff and 10 minutes  down the road .. forward me the details as you never know when needs Must and all that

Beautiful. Would love to see what they become in years to come. Timber like that is a rarity.
Great to see the young lad involved too, you could hold back a board for him in the hope he takes up an interest in woodcraft in the future! Would make for good memories!

I can't believe how much elm just went for firewood twenty years ago. No one wanted it.

 

When I worked for the LA I felled a stem that was burred to around 4m. I arranged with my manager to plank it at cost for a local wood turning club, but there was insufficient interest to do it.
