  2. I can’t decide which one I like the most .. there all bloody good .i keep changing my mind ?
  3. Thanks mate .. I feel-very privileged that I have some boards that I may never come across again ??

  6. I have another large lump some smaller pieces went to someone else unfortunately .. ?if I can get another ten boards out of the other then I’ll be happy though ..
  7. They are 64 inches wide on the flare and about 50 I think on the other end and just over 6 1/2 ft long
  8. Yeh very sad indeed .. to be honest I think about stuff that I have logged over the years .. that makes me cry
  9. I may well get rid of a few as I need some new tools and I won’t get rid of them without letting you know ?

  11. Better than what I hoped to be honest .
  12. Still plenty on the south coast but it rapidly disappearing ., in one week I’ve felled was is probaly one of the bigger ones left in terms of diameter .. following by climbing was is apparently one of the tallest ones left I the uk measured at 130 ft in 2014 .. big of a privaliged week really
  13. Well I’d certainly be covered in a lot more dust .. to be fair I’d have been happy either way , but the fact I could actually get it to the mill was indeed a bit of a no brainer ..
  14. Thanks Steve .. it most certainly will .. it’s being tucked away in the barn where I’ll be able to peak at it every now and again until dry .. exciting stuff
  15. It is most certainly outstanding !
  16. So last week as you may have seen on a previous thread we took down a rather large elm .. after some very helpful advice from here the decision to double end mill it was scrapped and off to the sawmill it went .. picked it up today and haven’t stopped dribbling since ?., ten stunning boards to look forward to ??
  17. Cheers for the advice big j ..it did cross my mind .but I thought it would probaly be a bit on the large side but I shall make a call as there only ten minutes up the road .I totally agree on the waste you get from chainsaw mill .so if it can go on a bandsaw that’s a much better option . I’ve done so much chainsaw milling I think I’m getting carried away ?were fortunate enough to still have some pretty sizable elms left down this part all (although we have been taking them down all week) ?. I have some nice bits building up
  18. I already have the mill and saws big enough but the double bar and chain I would need ..hopefully there is no metel as this wasn’t the last piece .. this was about 6ft and up .. big j has made a very good case though
  19. To be honest that did cross my mind but I was unsure how large they can go .. ??
