Tidy set up, are you running some kind of extraction system with that ??
The Trakmet tends to throw dust everywhere including on me, doesn’t matter how hard I try to set up with the wind at my back it just seems that site layout etc dictates otherwise.

Have you tried a 12-24” length of flexi hose on the end of the outlet? It should direct all the sawdust down the way.

No, just the trunk from the mill and the last hour every day spent shovelling it into bags.

Looks like Woodmizer have that side of things pretty well sorted then, I’ve a list of things I want to tweak on mill and one of them is to open up the outlet more on the bottom rather than the side, bit of sheet metal work but should be achievable.

Could you post some more pictures of your trailers log loader please @Johnsond

Hopefully that makes sense, 12v hydraulics and the winch are ran from a battery in pick up bed with an Anderson connector/extension set up.

Yeah sort of Andy but it still throws a lot out before it makes it to the outlet.

Joe fabbed up a 45degree elbow to take a discharge hose but I think I’ll be chasing him to get a go on his sheet metal roller to further open up the outlet to come out the bottom a bit more rather than the side.

Looks great! Something I’ve often thought about but never done.
Im guessing you use a combo of winch and hydraulics?

👍yeah two controllers etc etc

pretty basic but works well enough.

Had an interesting log today.
Ok it was an absolute 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Wych elm trunk, 2’+ dbh x 10’
Got 2/3 through the first cut then it started to lift, badly.
Turned off and backed out.
Chain, bar, mill, and ladder are fine….?
Went from the other end to finish the board without issue.
Happened 3 more times.
In the same spot.
The tension and compression inside were going mental.
Had to finish the log milling up hill, as it cut fine that way.
The grain inside may explain the t and c.

Looks like it was well worth preserving!! Nice stick[emoji106]

It’s amazing what’s going on and inside a piece of timber both visually and mechanically.

Are you going to do anything interesting to make sure it dries ok?
