Had a drop this morning of a couple of cube of softwood. They had moaned a bit about the price over the phone but still ordered the load. Got there and more moaning ensued so I said flippantly "do you want me to take it away?" They called my bluff and I returned to base to unload 2 cube back into crates. Probably better than having a customer bad mouthing me but still a bit peeved.

Good for you, it's the only way people like that will ever learn. Too often it's the squeaky wheels that get the grease, and giving in to their complaints only encourages similar behaviour in the future. Fuck 'em.

What got my goat was them saying "that was very expensive" and sitting in their garage was spangly BMW. So tempted to say "no thats expensive" but managed to bite my tongue.

There was a guy on here a while back, can’t recall who.

He dropped off some wood and the guy phoned up and tried it on, saying there was loads of bark and dust and offered him a bit less for it.

“Fine” says he, got in his truck picked it all up, including the inevitable bits of detritus, said never to call him again and left.

Good for you. At least you hadn't unloaded it. Annoying but you'll feel better for sticking to your beliefs.

Had a customer recently who complained that 6 or 7 logs were very undersized, " almost kindling" . Not what she expected.

Bite your tongue and move on....
