Sorry but thats half decent climbers money.

You want a pro with all the kit to do a job,or a 20year old to drag brash?
If it's the latter you're not going to call me.
I expect a half decent wage.
This is subbing.
No holiday pay
No sick pay
All my kit upkeep,aspen,bio oil.
Work that against paye,
I'm quite reasonably priced.

So do you aim your services at start up companies?

Its like you assume you would be the most competent on site from that.

Back to my earlier statement. People wont want you with all your kit just someone with work ethic, common sence and some experiance.

Dont forget most decent firms will have all your kit and more....

thats why i presume you go for start up companies and take all your gear to justify your rate.

to a well established firm they wont be botheres about your gear in the slightest. And certainly wouldnt pay you that rate esp when they have their own stuff and most likely other staff

Yes you have some kit and yes you have some qualifications but realistically speaking, as has already been said...most companies will have all that kit, experience and qualifications and more. 150 a day is a climbers rate. I mean no offence when I say this but what you have isn't even second climber/rescue climber which is required on the majority of jobs and I'm afraid that despite you're kit and experience you do just fall within the groundy category which in my opinion is from 100-120/125 a day.

I pay a second climber 120 a day and an experienced climber 150 a day when needed, if I were to need a third person, I have the other bases covered and have all my own kit so basically wouldn't want to be paying you 150 a day to do a bit of cutting and drag brash. 120 a day is a much more reasonable rate for the work you would be required to do.

You presume wrong.
Most firms I work for on a regular basis have been about and know how much a decent worker costs.
I agree some firms just want someone in ppe.
I do that occasionally.

That's your rates not mine.

As above I only ask stubby groundsman to turn up with ppe and own lunch, climbers only personal kit, saws are all mine as why pay someone more to use what I've paid to own.
If you were bringing the Mills in for a day I'd be charging more as that's hard on gear so acceptable.

I think the market for a skilled stubby groundsman bringing with them decent gear and experience is the smaller company who has taken a job outside there normal comfort zone so you become invaluable, hell I still go do it every so often for people. That's not saying experienced help for a bigger company isn't needed and valued but don't expect more for geer that's not needed or asked for.
