I may be wrong but i'm pretty sure it was paid work he was after ?

HIi i think i would of picked a better photo if i was touting for work/ info on this subject not a good stance and to be stood on severed stems with a possibilaty of rolling is a big NO NO for me, WHY is the root plate not severed off ? if it was not much chance of it righting itself when you are reducing tree back, and i think the market for what your after is very limited in the UK, we sub to a major forestry co and after a big storm we could be busy on windblown for a couple of days or a couple of weeks but more than likley 1 2 3 days and thats it in the big storm of 86 ish when it flattened thousands of trees in the uk ever one who was capable of using a chainsaw was doing and it didnt take that long to clear things up,

The poster has already explained about his reasoning and covered that he felt all was safe with the windblown tree,DART are a none paying service that has to relay on funding and charity to carry out there work so not what this guy is looking for,as said no call for what he is asking in this country..if he is single and no commitments he is best Canada or  the states,big trees can’t comment on pay structure.

You are right to think so but what the photo doesn't show are the limbs I am bracing on are severed and chocked so they ain't going no where.
The root plate is severed, took 3 rings off but the plate was going no where.
I left a large right angle branch on the downhill side making it stabilised so it can't roll. All the above allowing me to takle the higher section safely a bit at a time and keeping the saw sharper and away from the ground.

Hope that's an alright setup?

Stump was severed but not visible in picture, it wasn't going back in even with a 5tone digger on it
