Alpine tractors for low impact forestry

Recommended Posts

I've agreed to buy this little Iseki. Only 20hp, but enough to run a little 2t Igland winch and a log splitter which are the two things I need at the moment.

I'll get it forestry guarded when I have a minute. It'll be at work next work :D

Does it come with tyre levers and extra grease to get you into the cab?

Haha! It'll be fine - I'm surprisingly bendy for 6ft 8".

Besides, I probably won't be the primary user of it in the long term, or if I am using it, it'll be mainly winching so I'll be out of the cab most of the time.

I've deliberately gone for one with a cab as it's easier to put the guarding on it.

It'll look comical, with it basically being a dinky toy with forestry guarding, but being only 1.1m wide it should get around into some tight spots and a 3.2t winch will have enough pull to be useful. I'll probably put larger wheels and tyres on it in due course.
