Hi,

Could someone please help me identify this tree? I suspect this is a simple one for people familiar with this subject. I've tried the Woodland Trust Identification app which is suggesting Hazel but I'm not convinced I've gone through it correctly.

Given the size of it do you think it'd be safe to transplant to another location?

Thanks,

Cbar

I don't think it's a hazel, looks more like a sessile oak although the leaves don't look quite right. I'd guess an exotic oak of some sort?

Sessile oak? You cannot be serious.

I suggested an exotic oak as the leaves don't look right for anything I know, and I know there's all sorts of imported oaks grown.

I did think about a sorbus or alder but the leaves don't match any I've got.

Which alder?

Dunno, if I’m honest.
