I got there about 8am to look at the job, the lady was telling me how she'd been up since 6am to make sandwiches for her son and daughter for work, she also went on to say she made sandwiches for someone who works with her son, I wondered if the poor bugger had ever been in their home and seen the catering arrangements.

I would say a call to social services would be in order,especially if there are any kids living in there! There must be some kind of mental health issues going on there.
