its not the kids fault, they only know what they have been told or taught. the media loves to tell us all how dangerous the world has become and likes to keep us in fear, its no wonder some parents worry. I worry a lot, and i am protective of my kids.

Family.

It was MY decision to get married and MY decision to have children, so its MY responsibility to provide for them.

I think pride comes into it to, we have a good standard of life and if that standard fell I would fell a great sense of personal failure.

Pretty much sums it up really, eh?

Motivation for me is to improve... you can always improve.

Probably boils down to money though, simply because im dying to be my "own boss" so saving my money, and building my knowledge up so i can go it alone one day :)

The thing that makes me laugh is the guys who moan like hell about people who a prepared to cut down their own trees, are the same guys who moan about people who don't want to do manual work.

The more people who are not prepared to do manual labour the better in my book, as just means that trades men can charge more.

I blame the modern culture health & safety here there and everywhere, kdis going on work experience arent allowed to do naff all. parents keep them ndoors as it is deemed unsafe to let them out. We have created a Cotton Wool culture, and are reaping the rewards as such.

Agreed not to mention the sue for everything nanny state we live in, the work experience thing is spot on, the school our 3 go to they get one weeks work experience in all the time thier there and no interviews with careers adviser or owt like that like we used to so they get one shot at seeing what works like and when they go are'nt allowed to do fluff all, end result 3 more kids who want to work in computers :001_rolleyes::sneaky2:

i never got work experience and the one time i got a careers talk, the woman just said, well you can always just be a gardener like your dad, i looked at my mum, she gave me the look of,' dont you dare open your mouth' and that was it, i hated school and just gave up, guess what? i became a gardener and hated every second of it until i learned how to use a saw
