new husqvarna 550xp

i have got a new husqvarna 550xp due tomorrow now the courier made a mess today. 

whats best to do to run it in?

Good fuel and oil, then run it like you stole it

I'm on BP or Shell plus Stihl green oil, but then mine are not mtronic

Well as others have said it’s all about what you put in. Make sure it’s of good quality. Aspen is fine but husqvarna do there own pre mix now with the XP oil which is the best oil for these engines. Don’t let it tick over for long periods either but other than that just use it. There is no need to cut rings with it thinking your tuning it, it makes no difference just put it to work. 

 

The 550 is my favourite saw out of the whole range, it’s a belter!

So you all would rather xp oil and petrol over ashen 2?

I run mine on 40:1 xp oil, never had any problems with her a year on.

I think he means Husqvarnas version of Alkylate fuel ( similar to Aspen ) that is pre mixed with XP .
