has anyone got a tail lift van i can borrow?

I moved the VB lathe 350 kg with an engine hoist best bit of kit to save your back. I even put a couple of planks on the v frame and used it as a sack barrow.

Anything's possible! Yesterday I managed to pull an old diesel engine (weighing a few hundred kg) out of some undergrowth, onto a track barrow, drive it in the back of the van, then unload again at the scrappys. On my own of course!

Steve can you not strip it down? Tables off and remove the base and then each piece should become a relatively easy job but I bet they weighs every bit of 200kg. Looks a beauty

i would not know how to put it back together again. also on the back there is a load of gears and belts for the two fed speeds in the thicknesser that run from the motor that is housed in the base to the block at the top and the feed rollers underneath and i would never want to fiddle with them as they are too complicated.

How about hiring a "man with a van" locally, lots about around here and very reasonable, cheaper than hiring a van itself and a extra pair of hands

managed to get this sorted with a relatively local man with a tail lift van (normally does TV work) and it only cost me £70.

actually he was very professional which makes a nice change.

 

he hauls stuff around for the TV industry up and down the country and uses the van as a sideline in his spare time.

 

i'll be using him again if i need him.
