Splicing looks excellent to me:thumbup1:

Wouldnt go amiss if one or two of you decided to start a thread with a guide to splicing:thumbup:

16 strand please.:001_smile:

I'll have a go one day.....now just to find some time.

The marlow gecko is by far the hardest rope ive done:sneaky2:. Ive done two or three now and i swear im never doing one again!!!

So that's where I went wrong! My first splicing attempts (on Marlow) ended in bleeding fingers and sheer frustration. The rope's still on the floor where I left it:001_smile:

What is the easiest/best rope to learn on?

Haha! That sounds about right for marlow!

In my opinion the easiest rope to splice is yale scorch. If you are learning though its alot easier to learn on new rope.

the easiest to learn on is a hollowbraid like tenex or yalex.

the principle is the same for most braided ropes.

Yales Silver strak requres a bit more work that Edlerids Adline

I've made some splicing guidelines for some 16 strand cambium savers and some super short splces but i won't be posting them as they're non standard

the best step by step guides i've seen are the ones samson do.
