Ah got you, hadn't read the other thread. I do think quality of work slips within these large companies and they price with the view they can only turn a profit on extras charged at an extortionate rate and if this does not happen then they are fooked.
Just look at fountains, till hill where have they gone now even balfors at one time they were so many of them it was easier to spot than Eddie stobarts but round here it's only now amey vans everywhere so who knows.

Griffiths Civil Engineering group in Abergaveny sold out to " Tarmac " last Wednesday, I have a good friend who advises a top Uk builders merchant group & he is saying the construction / Housing market in the population centres might be starting to tip towards un-settled times, The Carillion thing will cause a massive head ache for someone, Support & logistics work on the HS2 project is well under way , one of our customers was working on Storage compounds for the project 14 months ago & he was working for Carillion " Who will build HS2 ?

Looking on the amey website  (sad I know) they had a part goverment contract with carillon, now amey have the full contact. Also didn't know that amey isn't UK owner either.
