probs my main concern is, after using could it be classed as administering medication? are there any alergies? side effects? what do the NHS think to it?

If I was concerned I would ask my insurer, get their reply in writing, if things do go wrong they are the ones who will be covering your ass, IMO.

Im trying to find the trauma pack for my 'big' first aid kit, before i part with the cash just want some convincing!:confused1:

have you thought about the ARB-AID arborist trauma kit, uses same technology as celox but is basically an enhanced first aid kit in a water- and dust-proof container. They had a stand at the AA this year. Arborist First Aid & Safety Equipment Kit by Arbaid (i think)

As you would be administering it as a First Aider, you would be classed as a "Good Samaritan" and so immune from prosecution. Also, Celox is a haemostatic agent rather than a drug or medicine. Personally, I would rather take the chance of some jobsworth getting upset than watch a friend or colleague bleed out in front of me.

Has anyone had to use Celox, and did it work like it says on the tin?

Yes, it WORKS. I take aspirin daily, so I bleed freely. I nicked myself with my handsaw and it stopped the bleeding toot sweet. I keep a couple packs in my first aid kit and highly recommend CELOX!
