I’ve had an enquiry for an oak mantle

Minimum 6ft x 9” x 4”

Just wondering what people are charging???

Green and air dried?

Do you price it per board foot?

Thanks,

Simon

I have a piece of Elm similar size on flea bay at moment , starting bid at £30 .

If I don't get that at least it's not worth the hassle .

I Am very disappointed with milling responses and think it's a very limited market .

finished or are you just supplying a bit of wood?

i did a beech mantle at about 5' long and charged £75. i only sanded the faces and gave it one coat of oil so no hard labour went into it.

Sold it for £150
Worked out at £55/cft
4 year air dried , needs sand blasting but has bags of character, very burry with one waney face. I was storing it for myself for future use but he really wanted it.
