Blimey, I thought the 461 had not long been released & an 046 or 460 were old school. These things are almost like cars where they change something every year.

i'm 100% convinced stihl like to build saws that break more. Apparently they've just weakened the air filter cover on the 201 to break more often. Imagine the 462 will be a weaker version of the 461

Agreed, Ive yet to see an improvement that makes them more robust, even the bloomin flip cap broke on my 250 & the petrol pipe looked like it had been gnawed by a dog after about 4 years.
