Dont know the 510, the 5105 is supposed to be better. AFAIK, CS30 & 31 require a rear handle saw with guide bar of 15" - but I'm not sure how rigidly that is enforced.

 

346xp is a lovely saw, mine feels perfect on 15", you wouldnt go wrong with a dolly 420, people hang on to their 346, plenty of 260 S/H around, but I would take care if your looking on e-bay.

Good luck gettin a 346 xp...good uns are pretty rare now.260 with a 15 inch guidebar would get you through your small tree felling course and do you for basic "work".

Pretty sure the course provider will provide saws but most will allow you to bring your own if thats what you want.
