NEW Husqvarna 550xp- What are your thoughts?

I think the problem with your 550 is it’s not had any updated parts fitted. There were problems as you describe but now they are very reliable. Did you ever have any work done under warranty ect? 

 

You say old  is better than the new. I have to disagree my 572 is in a completely different league to any 372 not to mention lighter!

I wonder if my " Spud Ported " 372 XP ( pre Xtorque ) would give it a run ?

That would be interesting. It wouldn’t surprise me if your 372 was quicker having seen other ported saws but I would think it would be close. For me the main benefit is how light it is and they haven’t sacraficed  durability and from

what I have seen so far that’s appears true. The Matt finish is a nice touch also.
