I’m thinking to scrap homepage all together and use Facebook only, I think this is the future.

 

Is there really any point in a business homepage anymore?

I just get loads of time wasters from Facebook but quality customers from our website.

I would say the quality of leads you get via a website is much higher than those coming from FB.

They have to have searched for your specific service and are therefore much more serious about having the work undertaken, and less likely to be tyre kickers....

I don’t think websites will be around for much longer, I think such as Facebook will take over. There for I’m thinking of investing all in Facebook ads. And learn it better to reach out where I want to be.

For me a website is 'reinforcement' marketing. People will feel more confident and more likely to use you if they can look you up. It's not actually much difference but there is a psychological benefit.

I do get what the OP is saying though. I for example do not have a landline number. I don't feel it's necessary any more.

I agree with OP that Facebook and the like will probably see the end of websites as we know them. Unfortunately I despise Facebook so woul prefer not to use it, but when looking at other businesses I can see the appeal of FB because you can easily look at recent photos and updates.

 

does it really cost much to keep a website running too? Think I pay £70 a year for domains etc plus cost of website design- hardly breaking the bank.

No one net of marketing will be sufficient, especially facebook. We have 6500+ followers, yet very few worthwhile jobs have come from it. The future is now, mobile combined with AI assisted search and advertising.

Sorry to be a dimwit but what is " AI assisted search" ?

I'll like or follow a company on Facebook, but if they don't have a half decent, established website theres no way I'm going to be contacting them to do some work.
