reduced daylight, reduced dayrate??

some how i dont think its quite fair that i charge the same day rate and the client gets about 2 hrs less of my time now the clocks have gone back, does any body charge less or do we all take the money and run?

I charge for six hour days anyway so nothings changes, if they want eight hours it cost more

We charge the same.It's a funny thing,when i was a production cutter back in the day during winter short days you always cut the same as in summer.No p$*!in about i think was the main reason,same seems to apply for climbing with us anyway.

Usually get done quickly when it rains too!!

No way would I charge less. I'll be on my way before it's dark whatever time of year.

We do allot of work on dayrate -

I'd take the money to be honest.

 

We get the same ammout of work done in the winter anyway - cold crappy days keep the boys working to get finished and get home.

 

If daylight is an issue... work harder!

Never having run my own contracting business, i can only comment from an employee perspective......

 

I've never found a boss yet, that changes prices between winter and summer.

 

Lost count of how many times i've been there on a cold nov/dec/jan evening, rakeing up by transit headlight though.

 

Headtorches tend to come in handy too.
