Just measure length width and height multiply then mark your trailer/van with a straight line for every cube and you can stop worrying. Anyone wants to question you, give them a tape measure and let them work it out.

I had a new client who asked me "exactly Mr Wild, can you confirm that there is a cubic metre here"??????????:001_tt2:

Why the hell cant people say they will deliver 3 cubic meters of mixed hardwood logs, dried to below 20% moisture, tipped on the drive for £240?

Doesnt really matter what truck it comes in, if its heaped, level, how many bags there is, or even what colour the truck or bags are!

Many people, and not just older people, don't have a clue what a m3 looks like and find it easier to visualise a pick-up or Transit load, as thats what the competition use. I used to advertise price per m3, but got fed up constantly explaining how much that was. Now all my customers know what a load is (half tipper load) or double load (full tipper) - and I've never been busier.

There's a very well known log supplier locally that have been in business for a looong time that still sell logs by the ton :confused1:

It really does amaze me

I was on holiday last year and visited a timber works run by a very large estate very proffessional. New Canters lots of equipment kindlet machines and guess what, A WEIGH BRIDGE for the logs going out. Either they are giving away seasoned timber or as u say its wet. They charged £70 a tonne, so going by a cubic metre of my beech at 300kg you would get 3 cu metres if it was dry.
