It's a tricky one, what stove to buy? Efficiency, in my opinion, has to be top priority, build quality and then looks follow.

But as we all know, the absolute bottom line is decent dry fuel.

When I bought it ( 6 years ago I think ) the Burley Hollywell ( 5 KW nominal ) was the most efficient stove on the market . 98% with dry woof I think . This swayed me together with the big fire picture and the un cluttered looks .

Another option....

We have a Dunsley Yorkshire boiler stove that feeds a thermal bank. Gives approx 8Kw to water and 6Kw to the room. Great bit of kit, and talking of weight/quality this beast weighs 200kg!! Without the fire dogs:biggrin:

Another point worth mentioning to potential stove purchasers is that a dedicated woodburner attracts a discounted VAT rate which aint applicable to a multi-fuel stove.

thanks for the heads up KJ, re the reduced VAT for pure woofburners,

btw.

I called in with Wilson's showroom in Coleraine this morning, since they stock Morso, and chuffed to find they are in the process of clearing out any/all other brands and for stocking the full Morso line only.

Not that the guy I spoke to was in any way disparaging or badmouthing the other brands, simply a long headed business decision to concentrate on Morso.

cheers
