At 48 I retired. Now at 54 and having refurbished a few houses with wood burners that needed logs. I decided to buy a chainsaw. I hated using so did a course. Nptc cross cutting etc. Then the climbing. Then mewp. Then chipper and I just keep doing courses. Now I just do it as a hobby and pocket money.

After losing everyone and everything, I realised that there wasn't much future in heroin addiction so

I went to a place called BETEL, got clean and decided to stay on and help others with the same issues find freedom.

Betel put me through my tickets CS 30-41 and LOLER.

Now I work full time for Betel and among other things I run the tree team.

I climb most days and despite getting into it later in life I can take on most jobs and have a growing passion for it. [emoji106]

Timon.

That took some stones to say in a forum, well done mate.

Guess I should share, not that I have found a job in ARB yet.

Got my first axe when I was 14 (**** thing from wilko) loved it and played with it everyday. At 15 I got my first chainsaw, it was a cruddy broken mcculloch (fixed it by shoving a pen in it). It wasn't much but it was enough to get me hooked. After dropping a log on that saw (and almost myself) I got a Stihl 181 for my 16th birthday. I am now 17 and running a 026 and currently rebuilding a 044.
