Mines a single cab mark 4 1998. Had it over 10 years, absolutely excellent truck. Never ever let me down, pulled a trailer, use it for logs and landscaping. I realise it's a work truck and use it to the full. Highly recommend them, think your problem might be getting a good one. I get asked all the time if I want to sell it.

ive had 7 hi luxs mk3/4 and 5s change your oil and filters every 5000 miles and theres no reason why you cant get 3-400,000 relatively trouble free motoring out of them. Not the most comfortable to drive, you can be guaranteed it will start in the morning and get you to work.

95' = mk3, non turbo.

I went from a defender to an 89' MK 3, so much nicer to drive! Lacks grunt on hills or towing but would sit at 80, tough and reliable

I had a mk3 with a tipping chip box. Really excellent truck. Mine got nicked so make sure you get extra security for it.

I have a double cab mk3 1996 p reg. Very reliable and always starts regardless, only stopped using it as we are too close to London lez. As others have said it is a non turbo 2.4 diesel so a bit gutless for towing. For sale if anyone interested.

I had a petrol 1987 model from1990 through to 1995, still fetched more than I paid for it when it was exported to Kenya. It was the cheapest vehicle to maintain I ever had with no major mechanical failures. Having said that I never had major mechanical failures with the LRs either
