Anybody else running 16/17 year 550s

Had two for the past 6 months and there terrible, constant cutting out, poor starting and bogging in cuts.

Worst thing is cutting out when going for the backcut.

I'm not after the whole stihl/husky debate as I have some older 550 that run fine.

Take em back to the dealer and say make em run like the older ones you have .

They have been in and been 'reset' apparently?!?!

Trouble is they can only start and run them. It's in the real world they suck with cutting out issues.

So how did they " reset " them ? I thought you had to bury it the full length of the bar for 2 or 3 mins ? ....Take the dealer a big log ! :001_smile:

You can reset the auto tune, there is a fuel reset or a master reset. It just means you then have to use the saw hard for 5 mins to let the system reset to the saws condition.
