French Election

The two main political parties were knocked out at the first election. The mainstream parties then backed Macron against the big evil "far right" Le Pen. Media throughout Europe demonised nasty Le Pen. Le Pen still got 35% (?) of the vote.

It looks like many europeans are no longer believing the lies told by the media and political elite.

Until 50 years ago Le Pen's policies wouldn't have been seen as "far right". They would have been seen as just plain old common sense. Le Pen wants to reduce immigration and deport illegal migrants - things most europeans want to see happen.

I can see real problems in Europe in the coming decades.

I for one am glad the French have seen sense! Le pen and all the far right need to go back to the fringes in my opinion.

If they did not believe the "lies" le pen would have won?

Hopefully this is the start of a return to less extreme politics on both sides of the spectrum!

Media have an important role to play in a secular democracy. They act as an unofficial opposition to the Governement.

However the media clearly have a multiculturalism agenda. For instance they talk about "so called Islamic State", they ignored the Rotherham sexual abuse for a decade, they ignored the sexual abuse at Cologne, they say every muslim terrorist has "mental health problems". They also make sure that there are visible ethnic minorities in any street scene broadcast from the latest terrorist attack.

Goebells would be proud of the propoganda that the BBC broadcast.

They make sure minorities are visible? Do the bbc bus them in when an attack happens?

Honestly, the next time there is a terrorist attack watch the news. You'll have a general shot of a couple of dozen people and they will be white. Then the interviewer will interview someone and there will be a visible ethnic minority directly behind the person being interviewed. Or the interviewer will interview an ethnic minority.
