Truck trailer and chipper rig?

I saw a tree team the other day with a ranger towing a trailer and chipper attached to the back via hitch? Are there any legality issues as this would solve alot of my problems if it's OK! Thanks

Pretty sure that's illegal! Was it on public roads? Company I subbed to use to do similar with a tractor trailer on mod sites but that's a different story

Seriously though, I've seen a crew here towing a 750kg shredder connected to a tipping trailer towed by a 3.5t tipper. Although I observed it was more for convenience for deplacement on a long line of street trees.

Till you have to reverse into a narrow drive and feed everything from the back. Thats a very restrictive rig right there

Nothing's perfect, but that would be a very good way of staying legal. Plus the 4x4 capabilities would allow you to get into more places, especially if chipping onto the floor. And a decent chip bin trailer could give you an 8 cube capacity and still be legal.

Yes it was on public road, a garage on the a5 dordon. So I thought legal. Must be more stupid 😂 Ford ranger, ifor trailer and a tw125 presumably attached by a towball on the trailer. It would have saved me dropping trailer off to come back for chipper on some jobs of my own. Not worth it though by the sounds of it

Tony Turner, the chairman of GreenMech once towed a special built trailer which carried a woodchippers and could tow another woodchippers to Spain behind his Range Rover!

Edit: thinking about it I think part of a showmans rig needs to be accomadation.
