Perhaps they also worked for a fairground?

Seriously though, I've seen a crew here towing a 750kg shredder connected to a tipping trailer towed by a 3.5t tipper. Although I observed it was more for convenience for deplacement on a long line of street trees.

Till you have to reverse into a narrow drive and feed everything from the back. Thats a very restrictive rig right there

 

Nothing's perfect, but that would be a very good way of staying legal. Plus the 4x4 capabilities would allow you to get into more places, especially if chipping onto the floor. And a decent chip bin trailer could give you an 8 cube capacity and still be legal.

Yes it was on public road, a garage on the a5 dordon. So I thought legal. Must be more stupid 😂 Ford ranger, ifor trailer and a tw125 presumably attached by a towball on the trailer. It would have saved me dropping trailer off to come back for chipper on some jobs of my own. Not worth it though by the sounds of it
