I'm not clever enough to add links to the original post, but hopefully pasting the info below from Simon O'Rourke's post on Facebook helps make more people aware and on the look out for his stuff.

This is a guy doing some fantastic original work who has had his equipment wiped out. Please post and share via as many outlets as you can think of.

"Stolen chainsaws and tools from my workshop in Rossett north Wales last night... please share this.

All the saws have my S logo etched into the bodies.

The culprit maybe down to chainsaws being listed as a mass produced item ( so I was told ) and virtually impossible to trace and as a result only classified as petty crime. As such a very good source of extra income with virtually no risk of prosecution as a deterrent

With these electric carbs they could be programmed with the owners details when purchased and easy to trace should the manufacturer decide to put a system in place

I can't see any reason a log book type system should be hard to do. As well as hardwiring the saws info into the software they could add a chip into the carb like you get with dogs that cost £20 that could be scanned by the police. I'd happily pay a bit more for tools thieves would think twice about stealing as the value would be way down if you couldn't have them repaired or spot checks by the police would see them taken off them
