What hitch do you use for lowering limbs/Trunk

Hi all just curious as to what hitch you all prefer to use when Lowering off limbs and the main trunk I use a running bowline accompanied with a half hitch for backup and sometimes I'll just get a sling wrap it around the trunk and connect the rigging line to it with a karibiner!

Same as you for bigger stuff, but for smaller stuff I mostly just use a steel krab. Frowned upon I know, but perfectly safe for small stuff IMO

I normally take a double wrap on the rope so the bight takes a bit of the strain off the krab if the lumps are starting to get on the heavier side.

Same here Steve I know it's frowned upon lol but we're all guilty of it Iv never had a log or branch slip yet from just using a karibiner but when I know things are getting heavier I ensure what's tied is tied!

Bowline or biner for lighter stuff and bowline and couple half hitches when it gettin into the weighty stuff.

I have used a timber hitch then half hitches couple of times but its a bit of dickin about.

Not seen the video, but heard a discussion today of slings coming unstitched when choked and loaded by a persons bodyweight alone!

Likewise, I've never broken a crab yet, and god knows I've tried.

 

Always figured the half hitch would go before the crab anyway.

Mostly a running bowline or timber hitch, I only use steel karabiner's if I'm doing a solo job for ease if there is not the space to just drop.
