Lombardy-Crane-Removal

Here’s a Lombardy Poplar we took down earlier this week. The lower half was full of dead ivy of which I had to cut my way through to get to the TIP. Many climbers might have opted to hitch a lift with the crane, but an access route needed cutting out sooner or later so I got that messy job out of the way first thing. Other than that, pretty straight forward, 50t crane, nice day for it etc.

Hey Reg.

You seem to do so many dismantles with the help of crane. Why so and what are the advantages/disadvantages?

he uses cranes because he is so good who ever he works for gets all the horrible huge trees to do. another awesome vid reg, i love the comment'that'll keep em busy for a while' lol. we are all guilty of thumping off a big bit to keep the hounds away from our feet lol but that bit was rediculious:thumbup1:

Great video again mate, The quality of the footage was really nice, so clear, really impressed with the different angles, some nice shots from the ground. Dont know if anyone will agree with me but What I really loved though was how aggressive the cutting with the husky seemed and then how gracefull the craning out looked, the soundtrack merged the two opposites perfectly. I could watch that again and again.

Do you use the same crane operator every time you do big removals?

Interested in reason of removal, not bothered upon the loss of a Lombardy upon the Landscape, but like to get a taste of the whole picture.

 

Decay, stability, foundation issues etc......?
