Filthiest job... dirty ropes.

I am sure this has been covered, but i searched and couldnt find anything. I did what i think was the dirtiest job i have ever done yesterday- when i got home everything was foul. My distel on my sidestrop wouldnt move due to the filth etc etc and it was very very wet to boot. I have put in a crappy pic of my rope to show the difference in colour between the cleaner bit and the worst bit. My question is- best way to wash pls. I have never felt the need before, but now it has gone too far.

stick it all a pillow case and chuck it in the wash mate, comfort i have been told is the best thing for softening ropes too

The washing machine is in the attic mate; typically covered in insulation. You put the soap in the tank, run back down and put the item in the loo (white thing with a sistern on) and press the lever.

I always found as others suggest in a pillow case standard wash.

 

if its really bad give it a pre soak in a bucket of warm water with some washing powder, if youve ever seen the colour the water goes when washing ropes youll know why!

 

that cant be good for your mrs machine!
