Once the inner skip was sacrificed I wonder how long the concrete would last?

I once used this method to line a chimney. I used galvanised spiral tube down the stone flue and filled the gap with vermiculite concrete, the tube did corrode away, but the concrete remained.

A chimney lining is a pretty low temp application and not subject to abrasion. Cast linings are

The inside of an air burner is a tougher life, Sodium silicate would be a better adhesive and a high alumina content would be the order of the day for the refractory lining.

I built one with my last company it was the size of a 40cu yd skip and it weighed in at 14t for getting rid of waste it was the best thing I have ever seen we were loading it for 10hr per day for weeks on end with a 25t digger it payed for itself in the first week as there was no waste the only thing you got out of it was scrap iron it had a fan on it that was about 50hp diesel the temperatures this thing would generate were in excess of 2000 deg c that was as high as it could read before the thermocouple melted it was built on a frame and the refractory panels just sat in to it we used to use just normal scrap skips but they would melt in a couple of days if I remember you could only burn something like 18t per day on the license from sepa we were slightly over that:001_rolleyes:
