Well when I asked the event organizer why after the RW being available on the market in various forms for what? 10 years ish? is it now all of a sudden a problem that it is not CE marked... the answer i got was that some one made a complaint and the German Trading standards banned it...but as to who brought up the issue that resulted in not only the sale of the rope runner and BDB but the RW as well i can only guess...on that note anyone bought the spiderjack 3? not seen any in the flesh yet... and anyone remember when Germany banned its nationals from using a chainsaw in the tree...funny how that didnt apply to the rest of the EU...

I think that'd be pretty shortsighted actually Mark.

They've had hard enough time finding someone to organize everything as it is, last years almost got cancelled.

It's a surprising amount of work to hold the comp, as I understand voluntary but expenses paid (with a limit)

Perhaps trying to educate the organizers would be a better approach (they're just ordinary arborists, neither have that much experience but hats of to them for trying!)

It would show people that money-grabbing pricks shouldn't be allowed to influence how comps are run.

Who did you ask?

Funny you mention the Spiderjack 3, and the complaint, as only yesterday i heard that one or more of the people behind the spider jack 3 were the ones who influenced/behind the decision to ban SRT devices in Germany in an attempt to get the SJ3 selling.

By money grabbing pricks, i really hope you don't mean the organisers, as they certainly arnt doing it for the money! The amount of negativity they receive i can't understand why anyone would want to volunteer do it!

Of course I don't mean them!

I mean the people trying to block SRT to sell their outdated overpriced bling instead.

Unfortunatly i doubt they'd give a toss about little old Sweden!

Perhaps ALL devices should be banned, back to prussiks and hip thrusting :laugh1:
