Stihl or Still ? The latter still make diesel forklifts, and possibly marine diesels at some time. If it is one made by the Garden Machinery people I'd be intrigued as I haven't come across one before.

stihl originally made tractors... but they werent great...

but ol' andreas stihl loved his tractors, and even when most of their revenue was coming from their chainsaws he tried to keep the tractors going, his sons werent keen tho, and they are a rarity these days

Well we shifted a few loads today and I have to say: The potential of this machine is amazing; it would probably go vertical i.e. superb on tricky slopes, is narrow and manouverable, easy to transport too. I reckon on less savage ground (was in 1st gear all day) it would seroiusly move some wood on a decent forwarding trailer. My home-made of the latter is a bit of a joke but was perfectly behaved. This formula imo was actually very effective. The downside - parts and maintenance of the vintage machine on a pressured job might be an issue. :001_smile:
