Ok here is my predicament. I'm looking into getting a new chipper. I want something bigger than a 6" so I'm going down the line of jensen a540, timberwolf 190, schleising 200mx etc etc Now I have noticed that Jensen often have a smaller engine than the timberwolf, but everyone seems to rate them as a better machine, so is engine size not always important. I understand the 200mx is a smaller machine than the others but many say it can keep up with them. Again it has a tiny engine in. comparison. What are your thoughts? And also what would you choose?

There is a saying ... " there is no substitute for cubes " However engine efficiency plays a big part nowadays . Our A 540 has the Kubota engine which is pretty good .

It's often down to the weight of the fly wheel, a heavier one will chomp through stuff much more efficiently than a light one

A heavier one has more momentum but takes longer to spin up to speed, a lighter unit slows down quicker but accelerates faster!

Would you say it is a lot better than the new 6" like the timberwolf 230? Also what are the main differences between Jensen and forst?

I've not used a better chipper performance wise the new TW230.

Hence the use of turbo diesels to boost acceleration.

This must also keep the weight down but add to the overall price I guess.
