Saw a mate peel down the corner of his hikux door to get in when he was locked out of it. If straightened back up after like it had never been touched

Locked my keys in my pick up a few years ago and the RAC did exactly the same thing with a plastic wedge , just enough to get his arm in.

They have been doing it to cars for years Steve. No tool marks. My mums wee car was done like this at least 10 years ago. It was on the passenger side and they bent it back once done. Was weeks before she realised but remembered parking in a dodgy street and seemingly there had been a few done. Didn't take anything that she was aware of.

Its always a conundrum. Publicise the latest method to warn potential victims,

but show lesser aware scum how to do it?

There's a guy on Facebook who is trying to have talks with the main van manufacturers about this. Worth a look I'd say the page is builders talk group or have a look on band of builders

There are some glaring "own goals" in the videos:

 

Ladders / pipe racks left on top - if you can't be bothered ton take the ladders off, it's likely you can't be bothered ton take the tools out.

 

Front gates left open so they can see and walk straight in.

 

Not excusing the thieving maggots, but getting yourself into a less "attractive" situation for the scum has to be a good starting point.

 

I remember seeing a couple of South African enhancements that were designed to deter car jackers:

 

 

There was another one where a big sing blade sweeps out from under the car and chops the legs off but can't find that one....
