I agree there Steve. Why anybody who knows about arbsafe and hasn't registered their machines is I am sorry to say an idiot.

1. You will stand a far better chance of getting your machines back!

2. It will help put these scum bags behind bars.

Now, why doesn't everyone who reads this post put 1 hour away this weekend to register some equipment.

Let's not complain that the police are useless when we do nothing to help ourselves.

I'm sorry but in that top pick an 8 ft steal bar would pop that with little effort or noise you can get a lot of power on a bar with a strong bloke and that's just the right height you woul need bolts on the inside two ft from the bottom to make that effective.

The bolts are on the inside. There's a steel plate goes under the door with expanding bolts holding it into the concrete

That's a pretty stupid thing to say really isn't it. Of course they are not going to be returned if the serial numbers aren't logged

I know Steve it's a comment born out of frustration more than anything, I appreciate the efforts of Arbsafe and what you do.

Last time this happened in 2014 there were over a 100 items of Stihl power tools stolen over a period of a month, that's what £50k of equipment stolen in a month plus all the costs involved within that (work schedule, wages, repair) if that doesn't constitute serious organised crime I do not know what does.

And they are round again this year and so far hit us and it seems John Burch.

It cannot be coincidence that they target only Stihl power tools, and the recovery of these tools is non exsistant.

Also not reporting the crime is bad Marc....it shows a lower than actual crime rate and the police will not get the funding they need. You need to report everything.

Don't you also need a crime number to claim on the insurance? Assuming you wanted to claim on the insurance Marc which i'd have to assume you do?

Also do all police forces know about/look at this if they find gear?

I honestly don't know exactly how many use it, but I can see going through the list of members on Arbsafe that there are a significant amount of forces email addresses used during registration. The larger the database gets though the more useful and talking about it will become within the forces thats for certain. We just need that critical mass. It is growing slowly, but for a free service I would have expected it to grow a lot faster. Don't honestly know whats wrong with people!
