Yes, bloody hopeless, either went off nowhere near where I intended or line got snarled round the end and went nowhere.

Tryed tieing the line to a tennis ball which worked better for directional and released better but was lethal bouncing around the crown and not heavy enough to come down, went back to just lobing the ball for the dog with it.

His was a blank firing thing purpose built for throwlines.

Think he's gone back to using ladders.

Yep thats what I have and I think thats what Dean was referring to. Its adapted from the dog ball launcher.

Its pretty good, but I never used it enough. I suspect Graygit had the cheaper version that came as a gun minus the fishing real. That was the one good thing about mine, it just never got tangled.

There is infinite adjustment to set the distance, its all down to how you place the weight on the device prior to squeezing the trigger. Unfortunately there is no gauge anywhere so it really is a case of experience to know how to set it. I never used mine enough to get that experience, mostly due to the fact we just dont have that many big trees. It is overkill for most of our trees! Fun toy though

One of tree stuffs APTA launchers is your best bet and far more accurate dean.

Got one of the 22 dog launchers it's ok you need to put atleast 12oz of lead in it to calm it down from ricochet and make it retrievable... the only time it's seen any real use is the kids playing war with it at Christmas though.
