Saw for over size timber

If your running a 460 on a 25" you need a 395 or 661 next , I would forget about the 390 as it will never feel strong enough on the ground and on paper the 460 is stronger than the 576 , the only reason I pick up my 576 is the anti vibe is noticeably better to the 460 which imo has the worse anti vibes of any modern pro saw maybe except to the ms 150!

Something that people don't take into account. Putting saw performance over they're own health. I like my 2006 441 but the God damn star shaped spongey bit ( on the left hand front when up turned) keeps coming off meaning it vibrates like a bag of lister powered dildos!!! I think I need to super glue it on as just picking it up it can become dislodged.

Pretty sure old 440 had less vibes, weight and more power but didn't have heated handles.

I'd plug for a 390 with skip chain and a 8pin sprocket, keeps the chain speed up and the vibes down, plenty of grunt without being to heavy so as far as I'm concerned the best combo unless you really need big grunt but that limits how long you can realistically use it for. I have a 660 but prefer the husky every time as so much smoother in use.

What length bar ? I would only put an 8 pin on if it was 24" or shorter . Got a 28" on my ported 390 and its better on the standard 7pin at that length . Found it lost torque with an 8 pin on that length .

Running a 28 and have to agree with you on sprocket size but if you fit skip chain it's got less teeth but because it keeps the speed up seems to cut quicker. Not done anything timed scientific tests so it's only my perspective, added bonus is less to sharpen when you hit something aswell

Yea . I had a cracking 372 and sold it when the 575 came out ( for runner to current 576 ) and I hated it . Weighed nearly as much as my 385 but made less power . So got another 372 ( pre Xtorque ) and got it spudded . Loudest saw he ever did he recons .

Pardon...can you speak up:sneaky2::001_tongue:
