Anyone used the new timberwolf 160?

Hi Swinny,

 

Just been reading up a little. Yes the bearings are now greasable. Fins are now steel and the blades are bigger and double sided. Opening is also a bit bigger.

 

The 125 is lighter but only by 50kg or so.

 

The Rotor is slightly lighter on the new TW160 and the rpm is lower also. Not being a tech/mechanic type I'm not sure how this will affect performance?

Pity they can't put a bonnet on it for 12k! Can you imagine what the motor will be like after a couple of winters and summers covers in salt and dust!

Same as the 125's Ian, which is fine, although you'd think it wouldn't be.

Yeah you would think it would get plastered in crap, fair play though. Would finish it off though for 12k.

I don't know why they don't stick even a cheapo pressed cover on it you could pop off (or replace!) in seconds.

It would finish the look off, and certainly wouldn't add more than a few quid.

They used to! This is a 97 machine still in daily use. Will the 160s live as long...?

i wonder why they scrapped the idea of the hood. I sold an old entec that had sprayed up. Did have to lightly repair the hood but it looked the muts after.

I've a 2001 model, exactly the same as that. One of the last entecs. Mines also still in daily use, and going to get a paint job over Xmas. Original yellow, not timberwolf orange, as you sometimes see them with.
