It's GNR for plant and Fioul for heating.

Just ask next time.

We buy 400 litres a time.

Prix du GNR (Gazole Non Routier)

Here is an article which explains the difference between the 2.

I didn't know they were different, I've been using Fioul in my machines for 10 years with no consequence. Good to know though.

My little Jensen 518 has never used more than 7 litres in a day and it does a bit of work to earn its keep

I've got a 530 and would say the similar. It's only got a small tank on it as it's a 750kg one and costs around £12 to fill with garage diesel and that'll fill the transit 3-4 times easily

Won't be long before we go back to wood powered steam driven wood chippers!

Why not a straight wood gas fired chipper?

Anyway all the time red diesel is substantially cheaper than DERV and you cannot reclaim tax on petrol the diesel will rule, even if it needs Adblue and a DPF.

The niche for a petrol engine will be those towed chippers that have to weigh less than 750kg and even then it will be cheaper to get the +E qualification on a driving licence.

And I just can't see the petrol version taking the same amount of abuse somehow. After all look at professional tractor mowers all run diesel for a reason, they rack up big hours and keep fuel costs to a minimum
