Hi I am a fan of Hiax too they are comfy to ware all day and good for climbing. I would get the same again . The only downside is they let water go though a couple of dew filled fields and your feet are soaked even with a good dose of polish each day .

that is a big downside mate, i was in a burn (stream) all day in mine 2 weeks ago and mine were fine and i have been working in the rain all day today doing conies and my feet are as dry as a bone

You want Nikwax, not Dubbin. Dubbin rots the stitching.

My Haix have always been waterproof, even when they are falling apart, it's the goretex liner not the leather that keeps the water out

I'm on my 7th or 8th pair and they have all kept my feet bone dry, even when working ankle deep in water.
