Behind the rant though is Trump trying to silence any criticism. Others have tried that before and generally history have judged them to be dictator types and generally poor leaders (Stalin would be the most notorious example, Kim Jong Un and his dad, numerous others). You can see how he talks to the press who ask him 'awkward' or searching questions "you should be ashamed of yourselves" "no wonder your press organisation is failing" - usually in capital letters. Trying to shut down any criticism and accountability.

This never a good thing. Without scrutiny the leader can do what they want... which is essentially a dictatorship.

Springsteen is another example of this, with the veiled threat at the end "would you say that to my face".... well, yes. The threat of a coward and a bully who does not have the mental ability to react otherwise.

I see these as desperation, avoid all scrutiny at all costs, from a failing administration

Because like a lot of you political obsessed types brought up listening to idiots like ed and his 5th form debates, which are more evasion than debating.

You sit there pontificating, deliberating every single full stop, apostrophe, pause and breath.

Which is part of the problem, go back 20/30 years and politicians spoke like a relatively normal person instead of corporate fluffy speech bs with buzz words.

Which is what Donald does like a normal person, he answers questions he wants to but he can't politely tell a reporter to do one.

Or would you prefer he stands there corporate waffle and saying absolutely NOTHING?.

I don't want a leader who waffles on like the majority of current leaders, you are correct. I'd like a real leader, who leads by example and can eruditely put his point across in a debate. Who wins others over by logic and reason. A man of honour and standards.

That's sure as hell not Trump. We are where we are because the alternative is even worse, which is a very sorry indictment of the state of office on both sides of the Atlantic today.

That rambling rant by Trump is just embarassing. Incoherant ranting, attacking Springsteen for things totally unrelated to his politicaly views. Playground insults, with primary school punctuation to match. This is the President of the United States! The world is laughing at America.

Your grifter is unhappy Donald is the Boss for a second time, a real boss that's actually doing something instead of winging instead of crying on tick-tock.

Go on then risen to the bait this morning. Name them, what has he done that has succeeded so far?

- Price of eggs have fallen (not through Trump but through supply chains recovering from bird flu)

Yup, that's me and my Trumpy success list.

Now on the flip side....

Couple of million none Americans removed, and a few more billion dissuaded from trying by a nice wall that's being erected suspiciously quick.

Suspiciously as though they had all the materials delivered before the last president sat there lying saying we can't do anything.

Sounds like progress to me, but you don't believe in the old fashioned having a border and a passport malarkey do you?.

You're going to have to link to the "few Billion more" statistics because I think that is a little lie. Half the worlds population?

You might also need to link to the 'couple of million" non-Americans statistic too because I think that is a bit of an exaggeration.

the link you posted allows the user to select interval, selecting 2025 the figure is 71405.

The 616 000 is total removals for the last five or so years

No idea, it was like trawling through mud finding data.

One news thing said 11k a month, still more than our shower of excrement.

And a bloody good advert for not jumping the border and waisting time and money with the smugglers.
