Doubtful, I'd read up on how the founding fathers wanted to run things when it was created.

I'm sure you're loving Kim Jong Starmer, I'm sure the picture of thatcher he removed was replaced by a lovely portrait of Cromwell.

The new poster boy for bread and gruel.

Nah, not really, Kier Starmer isn't great is he? Obviously better than the previous three incumbents, but that's not exactly difficult. Ken Dodd's dad's dead dog could've done a better job than that trio.

Don't think it matters what pictures he hangs on the wall though, that's doesn't bother me.  As long as he doesn't spend hundreds of thousands of pounds of our tax money on flat refurbishments, fancy wall paper or some such nonsense.

Bringing it back to POTUS anyway. At least our political system is not as fcked as the American version, that's something to be thankful for at least. It's not quite all about money here.

You got what you voted for.

In terms of milking the system, atleast the wallpaper wasn't from some vague in the shadows donor who's upto about 1-2 million in MP freebies, so far.

The reason why the US system is the way it is, is in part a system pre air travel.

That's why they would use railways for best part of a years electioneering.

I didn't vote for him, but yeah he's a vast improvement on the previous three incumbents so I can't complain too much. No doubt this will be controversial but IMHO he is more honest than Boris, (who wouldn't be?), more intelligent than Liz, (who wouldn't be?), and less rich than Rishi.

Anyway, dragging it back on topic. Can you explain the American system wrt air and rail travel a bit more? First time I've heard anything like that. Were election campaigns funded by rail barons or something?

You're current poster boys the only one with a personal named tax law.

Anyhoo, whilst radio was a bit more recent than the airplane.

They had to visit each state mostly using railways as roads were not non existent but they didn't have motorways or a proper road network until after WW2.

The news of all the man-of-the-household alpha males being terrified that their wives will secretly be voting for Harris makes this photo pretty funny.

From the Epstein tapes:

Trump, Epstein said, was almost “functionally illiterate” but did read the Page Six gossip column in the New York Post. He was “incapable” of reading a balance sheet, and any “act of kindness” would have been an accident.

...

On the tape Epstein can be heard saying, “He’s a horrible human being. He does nasty things to his best friends, best friends’ wives, anyone who he first tries to gain their trust and uses it to do bad things to them.”

On one occasion, Epstein alleged, Trump took a woman to what he called “the Egyptian Room” in an Atlantic City casino. Epstein alleged, “He came out afterward and said, ‘It was great, it was great. The only thing I really like to do is f--- the wives of my best friends. That is just the best.’”

Find it incredible that Trump, besties with Epstein, didn't know of Epsteins preferences, and if he did that means he is complicit in the crimes. Any normal human would have reported him. Worse that he was sampling Epsteins preferences at the time and couldn't say much himself.

Also from the tapes was Epstein suggesting that he was only investigated after the pair fell out over a property deal, the timing being a massive coincidence. Perhaps Trump did report him... but years too late.

Noting here that his campaign are worried that women are daring to go out to vote, perhaps scared that his various crimes don't go down too well with women (Rapes, sexual assaults, voyeurism (well reported) and as above but from a single source, sleeping with his friends wives). Apparently some American 'men' are willing to forgive him for this and still vote for him... worse are those that selected him as the Republican candidate, fully knowing his past yet selected him raising him up as the only option against the Democrats.

But good golly gosh, that's an awfully small arena for the final night's show in NC... anyone want to guess a headcount?

Edit: my mistake, that could be last night. I think tonight is here in Pennsylvania?

Set to start in 10 minutes from this picture, but we all know how Trump likes to be fashionably late...
