How do you deal with tiredness?

I'm anxious and obsessive! It was always work work work with me, then along came kids, work wasn't giving me the answers I was needing, I needed to be home more.

So I sold everything and obsessed about being a good dad and doing as little as possible work wise. So i sussed that and worked 2 days a week.

Found Arbtalk, went nuts in here and did 20,000 posts in a year.

Then as the kids got a bit older and the wife wanted me out the house more I tried to make the ultimate Arb truck. Did that for a few years and just bought another Mog, then it was the gym and being fit. So went bonkers at that for 6 months, got the 6 pack and tits then got bored of that!

Work got busy so I went bonkers at that again.

I am fueled by nervous energy, always have been. Use it to your advantage mate but don't kill yourself with stress and body pains because I've been down that road too and it's not any fun and hard to get back up.

 

 

I'm slowing down, Going to try having a free day. Last Sunday there we was out shopping, first time in 2 years we was in a shop together, fiancé was happy. Lost couple of jobs due to didn't do them right away but that's just how it will be.

Slowing down because you want to and not because you have to are positive steps towardsr covering from being a workaholic. If you don't have your health all the jobs and ££££'s you have made or could have made will be meaningless. Continue to better pace yourself and make the time for yourself, family. You may yet see the light at the end of the tunnel if you stay the course. The rest is up to you.

I hit the "wall" at 50, it was like someone threw a switch, up till then I had been fine, plenty of activity and good sleep pattern. Now....... well go to bed wide awake and wake up tired, lethargic and I feel like Ian BEALE looks........

 

Lucky you, that happened to me at 30! Can't remember what it's like to not feel tired.

 

I think the most demoralising thing is that we can't see an end in sight to retire at those of us who are mid 40s or 50 wanting to retire in 15 years it ain't gonna happen it's going to be 70 maybe more or even when we all do retire the government's won't have any money in place for a pension

There used to be a saying that went "hard work never killed anyone", now, Stefan is going to die because he puts in a few decent shifts, if we believe what he's posting. Forums! Oh dear me. It's brilliant!

In the name of Oden!! I'm going to slow down this threads, not work, I'm back to [emoji817] again !! Had to do with food, a thread Bullman had here fixed it. To F with it, but during my slow down I managed to get Xbox with surround system installed and almost finished gears of war4 ! I got some catching up to do.

There's a follow on to that "hard work never killed anyone, but it's a risk I'd rather not take" There's also another saying round here that hard work kills horses, who do you believe ?
